Cafe

Simple & delicious seasonal food, sourced locally wherever possible and

served in one of Daylesford’s most beautiful locations- the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens.

OUR STORY

Wombat Hill House was opened by the team at Lake House in 2011 with the aim of creating a casual country cafe where people could enjoy all-day dining in a relaxed and pretty setting. Take away, grab a coffee whilst walking your dog, order a picnic and shop for some fresh produce.

Wombat Hill House aims to welcome all to enjoy this beautiful part of our village.

Don’t miss Allan Wolf-Tasker’s whimsical ‘enchanted garden’ mural painted directly onto the cafe walls.

OUR MENU

We offer simple seasonal food, sourced locally wherever possible. We don’t publish our menu as it changes often; however, there are always a few vegetarian and vegan options available. Most menu items can be made to take away. We can even lend you a picnic basket and recommend some good spots for an afternoon of relaxation under the trees.

You’ll find fresh seasonal juices, smoothies, kefirs, local sodas, cocktails, cider, beer, wine to enjoy at your own leisure.

YOUR HEALTH MATTERS

Regardless of when restrictions on travel and businesses ease, we’re keen to be flexible enough to be able to take care of you under “new normal” protocols and requirements. We also want to say “we hear you”. You’ve told us, loud and clear, what you’ve loved and would like us to retain. Thank you.

Whilst abiding by essential restrictions for food & beverage businesses, we continue to be extra vigilant with hygiene and mandated advice around social distancing for guests and staff, as delivered by the Australian Department of Health.

You will notice a couple of our team keeping an eye on these issues. We appreciate your help and understanding!
